Researched by Grads Webinar

Discover the next generation of circular economy solutions at our free Researched by Grads webinar! Hear directly from graduate students at Arizona State University who are turning innovative research into real-world impact.

Sarishma Bhandari will share how urine diversion in Phoenix schools can recover critical nutrients for fertilizer, cutting climate and water footprints dramatically, and Aman Raj will present the first U.S.-specific life cycle assessment of cadmium telluride photovoltaic recycling, showing how module design drives environmental outcomes.

This webinar is a unique opportunity to hear fresh perspectives from emerging researchers who are tackling complex sustainability challenges with creativity and data-driven insights — perfect for municipal staff, sustainability professionals, and anyone curious about innovative circular-economy strategies.

Meet the Speakers

Aman Raj is a Ph.D. student in Civil, Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering at Arizona State University, advised by Dr. Dwarak Ravikumar. His research focuses on advancing circular economy strategies by using spectral imaging and machine learning for enhanced material characterization, alongside life-cycle assessment and supply chain modeling. He also mentors undergraduate and graduate students at ASU, supporting the development of the next generation of circular economy leaders.

Sarishma Bhandari is a second-year master's student in the Civil, Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering program at Arizona State University. She is working as a graduate research assistant in the Circular Economy and Sustainable Energy and Materials (CESEM) Lab at ASU under Professor Dwarakanath Ravikumar. Her research focuses on applying life cycle assessment and scalability principles to support the transition of sustainable projects from pilot-scale to urban-scale deployment.
