Circular Arizona board member Lauren Click and partner Arizona Composting Council honored at COMPOST2025
Phoenix, AZ — Circular Arizona is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Board Member Lauren Click and partner organization Arizona Composting Council (AZCC) at the US Composting Council’s (USCC) Annual Awards Ceremony at COMPOST2025. These national recognitions highlight Arizona’s leadership in composting and sustainability.
Lauren Click was awarded USCC Young Professional of the Year for her transformative work in composting accessibility, securing over funding and expanding composting programs to over 110 public schools nationwide, with 101 in Arizona. Her leadership in advancing policy and inclusivity has been instrumental in scaling composting initiatives across the country.
Lauren, a Circular Arizona Board Member, was previously recognized as Nonprofit of the Year (2024) by Circular Arizona and is a Mercedes-Benz beVisioneers Fellow. She continues to drive systemic change in food waste reduction while pursuing advanced studies in sustainable food systems.
Additionally, the Arizona Composting Council (AZCC) — a key partner of Circular Arizona, co-founded by Lauren — was honored with the USCC State Chapter Rookie of the Year Award. This distinction recognizes AZCC’s exceptional growth and innovation within its first five years as an official USCC chapter. Competing through a rigorous pitch and Q&A process, AZCC stood out for its forward-thinking strategies and commitment to composting expansion in Arizona.
“We are incredibly proud to see Lauren Click and the Arizona Composting Council receive these well-earned recognitions,” said Ryan Gurr, Circular Arizona Coordinator. “Their leadership is shaping the future of composting and resource recovery in our state and beyond.”
These national awards reinforce Arizona’s growing influence in the composting sector and Circular Arizona’s ongoing commitment to supporting bold, effective solutions for sustainability.
