Circular Arizona invests in paid contractor position

Circular Arizona’s long-range strategic plan was completed last year. One of the plan’s first priorities to ensure organizational stability was to recruit a contractor.

Over the past several months, Circular Arizona’s executive committee (board chair, vice chair, treasurer, and secretary) worked to accomplish this goal — and we’re excited to welcome Ryan Gurr as our first paid staff member! Ryan will assist the board with administrative duties, communications, events, membership support, and revenue goals.

Ryan currently works full-time as a communications and marketing professional for the Town of Queen Creek, supporting the municipality’s environmental initiatives. His previous experience includes event management, digital marketing, community engagement, and teaching.

Over the past year-and-a-half, Ryan served on Circular Arizona’s board of directors.

“In this role, I'll have the opportunity to more fully immerse myself in our mission to foster an equitable circular economy for all Arizonans,” Ryan wrote. “I couldn't be more excited to continue connecting sustainability leaders, advocates, and organization members.”
